Day 1 : Coimbature - Ooty | 135Km | 3.5Hrs

On arrival our Tripdoers travel executive will greet you at the Airport Lounge or Railway station. Anyone visiting Ooty would not hesitate to call it a ‘heaven on earth’. A hill station in Tamil Nadu, the Creator has left no stone unturned in making it a paradise. Ooty’s beauty is always sought after, akin to the Kurunji flower that blooms once in 12 years to make it a blue mountain. The 6th mile, as the name suggests, is 6 miles from the main township and is a photographer’s delight. Offering a fantastic and visual treat, this place is a blanket of greenery and a favorite spot for film shooting. Located about 19 km from Ooty, Pykara, named after a village and river is a major tourist attraction. Many waterfalls originate from this river, a sight anyone can fall in love with.

After Breakfast proceed for sightseeing. Lush green carpets covering a major part of the town is what tea plantations can be described as. Terraced layout, lawns with lilies, beds of flowers and many more features sum up the botanical gardens in Ooty. Spread over 22 acres, this garden is divided into six sections, each having its own features. Dodabetta (meaning Big Mountain) Peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri and has a reserved forest area surrounding it. From atop the peak, the scenic beauty of Ooty can be viewed to one’s content. A visit to Ooty is incomplete without a boating at the famed Ooty Lake, an artificial lake. Engulfed by groves of eucalyptus trees and an “attention grabbing” railway line on one shore, this place is hosts boat races every year.

After Breakfast proceed to Wayanad. Set loftily on the Western Ghats, Wayanad is a popular tourist destination in North Kerala. Captivating Mother Nature, in her different forms, predominantly showcasing wildlife and natural beauty is a clear cut apart. Afternoon proceed for local sightseeing. Pookode Lake bearing the shape of India’s map, it is the only one of its kind fresh water lake in Kerala that is situated among wooded hills.  Then visit chain tree. It is a must see tourist spot in Wayanad. As borne by the name, Chain tree is a large Ficus tree that has a story to say, to uncover the myth behind it. It is supposedly a haunting site and visited by travellers to know more about the place.

After Breakfast proceed for sightseeing. Kuruva Isaland Popularly known as Kuruvadweep in local parlance, this is a dense evergreen forest of about 950 acres, this tourist spot captures nature in its splendour as it is uninhabited. It has a rare collection of flora and fauna apart from rare herbs and birds. After that proceed Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuaries. Located at Mananthavady near Wayanad, this is a wonderful trekking spot and a place of children’s delight, Tholpetty boasts of a one of the largest elephant populations. The variety of wild animals makes this a favourite spot for a safari. Edakkad caves, Any trip to Wayanad is incomplete without a visit to these famous caves, which were formed by the splitting of a huge rock from the main body.

After Breakfast proceed to Coorg. Coorg is India’ coffee bowl. Picturesquely located in Karnataka, this small district is a major tourist attraction. Connected by neither trains nor planes, driving down from Mysore is the only option to reach this lovely piece of land. Unique is the location and unique and hospitable are its people. The coorgi wedding is something one has to experience. For those who love to be in the lap of nature, Coorg it should be. Bhagamandala is located at Coorg and is supposed to be a centre of pilgrimage. It is on the river Kaveri and is joined by its two tributaries at this location. Visitors usually take a dip in the river at this place and perform rituals for their ancestors.

After Breakfast Proceed to Coorg Sightseeing. Situated at Coorg between coffee plantations and spice gardens, Abbi Falls is another major tourist spot in Karnataka. A hanging bridge from where visitors gape at the falls, adds excitement to the location. Far from the madding crowd is another tourist attraction in the form of Bylakuppe Golden temple, a home for Tibetan Buddhist monks. A serene atmosphere, large statues of Buddha, colorful paintings and decors on the wall and a decorated altar make it different. If you get thrilled at Elephants splashing loads of water and taking bath, Dubare Elephant Camp is the place to be in. It is adventure, fun and pleasure all packed into one.

After breakfast proceed to Bekal .A place of high tourist importance, Bekal in Kasargod on the northern tip of Kerala defies comprehension. The Bekal Fort, the largest in Kerala, is an architectural wonder, probably built in the sea. It is spread over 40 acres and offers some certain specialties like the water tank on top with its flight of steps, the tunnel opening towards south, an ammunition dump and broad steps that lead to the observation tower. The long coastline, pristine beaches, stretches of greenery of coconut gardens and hill stations, the estuaries and backwaters, the Lake Temple and many rare art forms like Theyyam make Bekal a tourist hot spot. For the nature loving traveler, there wouldn’t be a more perfect setting to admire its charm and enjoy a vacation.

The whole day is at leisure. Go for Kayaking and Canoeing down the Nombili River amidst lush greenery & placid backwaters. You can also opt for Thonikadavu trekking point. Fall in love with this place the moment you see it. Thonikadavu offers the frills of real thrill while trekking, amidst lush green vegetation, small springs and the aroma of spices. The renowned Bekal forest is located close to this trek. The top of the hill that culminates the trek offers a treat for the eyes in terms of natural landscapes and vegetation. Other outdoor activities include Fishing, Nature Walk, Badminton, Beach Football, and Beach Walk.
